Rathdown Motors Drives Honda
Universal Honda Limited, the Irish importer of Honda cars in Ireland, proudly announces the appointment of Rathdown Motors as Honda Main Dealer with immediate effect.
Rathdown Motorswas established in 1984 by Mark Turley and now they celebrate 26 years in business with the addition of the Honda franchise to their offering. Rathdown Motors premises in Terenure, Dublin is a landmark site and is one of Ireland’s premier retail dealerships. The company was previously a Honda main dealer until 2003 and an after-sales dealer to 2006.
Dealer Principal James Hennessy, formerly Managing Director of Maxwell Motors in Blackrock, Co. Dublin, also has a background in selling Honda cars. James was appointed Dealer Principal of Rathdown Motors in November 2008 and brings with him almost 30 years of experience in the motor industry.
Speaking on Rathown Motors reappointment as Honda Main Dealer, James said: “It is like coming home – we are delighted to have the Honda brand back in Rathdown Motors and particularly in Terenure. Both Joe Turley (Director) and I have always been passionate about Honda cars – their looks; their build quality and Honda’s advanced technology, and we are very excited to be back with Honda as we enter a new decade. It is our belief that the future of motoring in the immediate years ahead is hybrid. Honda’s success with hybrid will enable us to offer additional options to our customers. We are now adding the Insight family hatchback to the hybrid range and later in the year we look forward to the introduction of the sporty CR-Z.

Rathdown Motors currently employs 26 people in Sales and the After Sales service and parts departments. Both James Hennessy and Joe Turley look forward to welcoming back all the past Sales and Service Honda customers and look forward to greeting new customers in Rathdown Motors.
On display at the dedicated Honda showrooms in Terenure will be the entire range of Honda cars, including the Jazz, which recently won the Continental Irish Small Car of the Year 2010 Award; the Civic range including a hybrid option, Honda Insight family hybrid introduced this week to Ireland, the all new Accord, the superb FR-V people carrier and the CR-V 4WD models. Visitors to the showrooms and customers who aspire to drive a Honda are invited to take a test drive in any Honda model. The workshop is also open to service existing Honda drivers.
